WhatsApp Messaging Strategy

Regardless if you are a WhatsApp BSP, ISV or just getting started, my six years experience at WhatsApp/Meta is relevant to all Business Messaging Solutions. Omni-Channel messaging solutions require a foundational tech stack in NLP/NLU, LLMs, inbound integrations,  outbound integrations & ultimately vertical specialization that drives revenue growth. Part of my role at WhatsApp was evaluating the best BSPs for a given WA beta feature. I have intimate knowledge of how to become a world-class BSP, complete with product pillars and Eng resourcing recommendations

Conversational AI Strategy

Six years of experience at WhatsApp has been an exceptional foundation for the next wave of AI evolution. "Generative" AI involves working with LLMs, Vectorization, Prompt Engineering in a way that keeps enterprise data private.  Messaging tech stacks have all the same major components, but the automation pieces are now being dominated by LLM workflows, which means product strategy requires some knowledge of not just standard messaging components, but now how to overlay LLM workflows on top.

General Product Strategy

With 25 years of experience in the software industry, there are many processes and frameworks that apply to all verticals of software innovation. Product innovation is a skill regardless of the level of domain experience but previous areas of domain experience include B2B (ABM) software, Adtech, early RSS, Blog & eMail software. In the last 6 years, I became a Conversational AI expert within the WhatsApp ecosystem, and now evolving into the G-AI space.

BIO

Louis Moynihan is a software executive with over 25 years of experience, innovating in the Dot Com, Web2, B2B, WhatsApp Messaging and Web3 areas.  Most recently, he spent six years at Meta/WhatsApp, leading Product Business Development in North America for the WhatsApp Business API, an enterprise solution supporting Business to Consumer messaging to nearly 3 billion WA users.

Louis Moynihan now consults on Product Strategy primarily in two areas:

1. WhatsApp Messaging via WhatsApp Business API and related technology in bot builders, automation for users, automation for agents, NLP/NLU, and Integration hubs. Business clients typically need one type of strategy, and WA API BSPs need a slightly different strategy. WA API is evolved substantially since its inception in August 2018 and continues to add more features and functionality with downstream capability needs.

2. Conversational AI is a broader area and much bigger than just the WhatsApp ecosystem. There are common components such as business back-end integrations and the need to automate sales, service & employee use cases. Still, the channels are wider than WhatsApp and include Webchat, eMail, Slack, MSFT Teams and Voice.   The AI components have been recently disrupted by LLMs and Generative-AI but the core components remain the same, especially tracking KPIs and business outcomes. G-AI workflows are net new to most businesses, and this is in high demand as of 2023.

Services include Product Strategy, Product Innovation, Market Sizing, Product Prioritization, Eng Scoping, GTM Strategy, test & validation etc:
